The New York Times, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious publications in the world, has taken note of Grupo Mariana. In a recent article addressing medical facilities in Central America, Grupo Mariana was featured prominently.

The New York Times article, which is titled “Developers Integrate Health Care Into Central American Projects,” quotes the Chairman of Seaside Mariana, Kevin Fleming. The article notes that in addition to a Nicklaus Signature Championship golf course and Wyndham hotel, Grupo Mariana will have a 40-bed clinic in their 923 acre Pacific Coast project.

Integrating medical facilities into projects is new territory for developers in Central America. Only a handful of projects in the region include onsite medical facilities. Grupo Mariana  will be among the select few who are providing top-notch health care within a luxury resort setting.

The article notes that 1.6 million Americans are expected to leave the United States for some form of medical treatment by 2012 and that the cost of care in Central America is at least 25 percent to 40 percent less than in the United States. Grupo Mariana will be at the forefront of the demographic trend and poised to play a much needed role.

Grupo Mariana is seeking to establish a partnership with a U.S.-based hospital or university to build the health facility. The clinic will be located on a parcel not far from the Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and the hotel to be operated by the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

Grupo Mariana s health facility will allow patients to convalesce in style and spend extended periods of time in a tropical locale, free of concerns about access to quality health care. Grupo Mariana is proud to offer world-class health care in a luxury oceanfront environment.
